6 a.m., and already many car enthusiasts were gathering at the front gate for the October 23rd opening of the much anticipated 33rd Tokyo Motor Show. By the 9:30 a.m. gate openings, the lines seemed to stretch forever.

37,100 visitors passed through the gates within an hour and a half of their opening, filling all the halls with people. Thanks to the strong interest in motor sports, the large sports cars in the foreign exhibits enjoyed much attention. Many young visitors were drawn to the new domestic models and sports cars, while a wide range of people, including families, took interest in the new brands of low emission vehicles.

The fuel cell powered reference models and concepts cars were also popular, demonstrating the increased awareness for the environment.Other popular attractions were the entertainment performances and interactive demonstration areas where visitors could experience the challenge of extreme driving.
