PLAY BACK 1999 :
Emphasizing Tradition and Personal Satisfaction

While the Subaru booth does not have an overall theme, it is emphasizing Subaru's vision toward driving performance, safety and the environment through its trademark 4WD engineering. The thrill of racing and the pleasure of 4WD are presented through powerful sound, real video footage and 3D graphics at the Subaru 4WD Stage.

Eleven reference models are on display, including a near-future grand touring wagon, the FLEET-X, and the hybrid ELTEN CUSTOM compact-mini. The FLEETX is a lightweight vehicle built using Multi-materials Technology, such as aluminum outer panels, to enhance driving pleasure while also reducing impact on the environment.

In the Legacy series, the B4 BLITZEN sports sedan, designed in cooperation with Porsche Design for this show, is in the viewfinders of many visitors' cameras. Visitors are also interested in the sophisticated LEGACY TOURING WAGON SUPER RFRB II and its aero trimmings from RFRB, Subaru's new parts brand.
