Multi-sensing hub + Pitman arm SBW |
The multi-sensing hub is the world's first hub unit bearing to succeed in detecting 3-directional load information from the road.
On the other hand, the Pitman Arm SBW is an epoch-making SBW system which enables the removal of steering shafts and omission of the rack and pinion. By combining these two items, NSK proposes a unique, never-seen-before SBW. By sensing road load information, feedback about road grip conditions is sent to the controller, and ideal configuration of tire angles allows you to drive with precise steering control, in safety. What's more - this compact pitman arm SBM allows freer design of the engine room and car interior.

Independent L/R toroidal CVT |
This is the new application solution for the half toroidal CVT. Independent L/R toroidal CVT is the system that adjusts power distribution to right and left wheels, by installing the CVT which has an independent output function with FF layout cars. Thanks to the CVT's minute adjustment of output, we can control car attitude more precisely and easily. For example, when we turn a corner, independent L/R toroidal CVT modifies the course by giving more power to the outside wheels. |

New electric tilt telescopic steering column |
Electric tilt telescopic steering column is the convenient device which automatically tilts up to give us a space to pass, and its telescopic shaft automatically adjusts the driving position after seated.
NSK invented its new version in order to have more variations of car models which can equip the electric tilt telescopic steering column. We adopted an epoch-making mechanism which two motors operate at the same time and support with each other. In addition, by omitting the number of the parts, we made the device as simple as possible. As a result, NSK succeeded in making it lighter and smaller, and its small motor requires 40% less energy.
We contribute to the popularization of the electric tilt telescopic steering column which used to be only for luxury vehicles.

Bearings, friction plate, and one-way clutch for AT |
Today, automatic transmission (AT) is the mainstream automotive transmission.
AT has developed with the times - it originally had only three gears but it currently has up to eight. This allows us smoother and more efficient shift changes. NSK is the only provider which develops and produces every essential automotive part used in AT such as bearings, friction plates, and one way clutches. To reduce energy loss, our AT products will become thinner, lighter, and more effective-.

Ball screw actuators |
Small components called actuators are used in various parts in the car; such as in gear transmission and engine throttle control. With today's high requirements for safety, comfort, and environmental concerns, there is a need to shift from oil pressure type to electric actuators.
NSK recognized this need at an early stage, and has worked to design electric actuators which meet high efficiency, high performance, and energy conservation requirements. In our booth, we will exhibit an actuator for outboard drive transmission that employs our high performance ball screws, which allow for strong gear power and speedy reaction. |

Variable steering |
Variable steering is a mechanism which varies steering gear ratio by computer control.
It has many useful functions which help make handling operation safe and comfortable for the driver. For example, it allows you to not only turn in a tight circle at low speeds, but also enhances safety when driving on straight roads at high speeds. By compacting the mechanism, NSK has succeeded in incorporating this variable steering into the column type electric power steering system. This allows small and middle-sized cars to enjoy the comfortable handling, safety, and performance of variable steering. We will introduce this unit at our booth.

Hub unit bearing |
Located at the center of wheels, hub unit bearings play a key role in supporting vehicle weight and wheel movement. While maintaining sufficient strength, hub unit bearings must also meet demands for weight reduction in the pursuit of dynamic performance.
Having reviewed the conventional manufacturing process, NSK has developed a brand-new metal forging technology, named non-heating forging technology. While the conventional process requires steel to be heated at 1,200 degree for forging, the new metal forming technology no longer requires this heating process.
This non-heating forging technology has made stronger hub unit bearings possible. And thanks to this enhanced strength, we have succeeded in commercializing weight hub unit bearings that are more compact and lightweight than ever before. The new non-heating metal forging process has another advantage - the lack of heat generated means it is environmentally friendly. Our hub unit bearings, created with our new non-heating forging technology, will be displayed at the NSK booth. |

electric power steering |
Power steering reduces the amount of wheel turning and effort needed to park or make tight turns.
EPS creates many benefits for future driving, in addition to improvements in fuel efficiency due to its light weight.
As you turn the wheel, a sensor judges resistance, and the motor is activated to provide just the right amount of assistance.
We will present a wide variety of our EPS product line along with our fuel saving and easy-driving technology.

Electrical system and engine bearings |
The average car contains between 100 and 150 bearings. Bearings are used in the engine, in the alternator and motor of the electrical system, and in many other places such as air conditioner, windshield wipers and power steering.
Each of them must be strong enough to withstand tough conditions. They must be able to resist not only heat, vibration and sudden change in load, but also water, sand and dust. We will showcase our bearing technologies which provide great energy savings, higher performance and reduced noise. |
