| The Passat R36, the evolutionary model of the popular Passat series, is the most powerful and sporty version and will be available in both sedan and variant configurations. The Passat R36 is powered by the 3.6-liter, V6 engine with FSI technologies, yielding 220kW (300ps) which is 36kW(50ps) more than the exisiting 3.2-liter engine versions. This power is tranmitted by VW unique 6-speed DSG and 4Motion drive systems. The Passat R36 sedan propels to 100km/h in just 5.6 seconds (5.8 sec. for the Variant) and its maximum speed tops 250km/h(with limiter.) The market introduction will start in Eurpoe in early part of 2008 and comes to Japan later that year. |
