Highlights of the Models on Display

Rover 75
Photo:Rover 75Introduced to the Japanese market in October of this year, the Rover 75 is an all-new luxury saloon created to play a major role in Rover's global brand strategy. The new model Rover with a huge investment of some ¥130 billion. Its design is reminiscent of renowned Rovers of the past while at the same time expressing the traditions of the British auto industry in an innovative way. Packed with unique, top-class engineering, the Rover 75 delivers world-class body strength together with substantially improved reliability and handling stability. For safety, it offers a wide array of equipment, including driver's and front passenger's airbags, ABS, side airbags, and even ITS head airbags. Its features meet all safety requirements expected to be enforced in the future. It truly is a car that blends tradition and the very latest technology.

The Rover 75 is powered by a V6 quad-cam, 24-valve 2.5 litre petrol engine and incorporates an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission. It is available in two versions, the Connoisseur and the Club, and is further distinguished by an extremely wide range of body and trim colours from which buyers can choose. There are fully 12 body colours and 5 trim colours on offer. The models on display are all Connoisseur models.

Range Rover
Photo:Range RoverThe Range Rover, the flagship model of Land Rover, was introduced in 1970 as the world's first full-time 4WD. Since then, this prestigious vehicle has consistently offered sophisticated styling, refined cabin amenity, and exceptional offroad driveability, which together have helped it gain widespread popularity among drivers all over the world. In 1994, the Range Rover was redesigned from bottom up for the first time in its history. The all-new Range Rover employs the world's first H-gate automatic selector system, which enables the driver to switch between the high and low ranges with a single shift lever, and it is fitted with electronic air suspension and other state-of-the-art technology, all of which results in excellent handling and driving performance. The Range Rover delivers the highest level of comfort to all of its occupants through its elegant interior, which is the embodiment of luxurious British style, and through its outstanding ride and ease of handling. This ultimate 4WD is further distinguished by a wide array of the most advanced safety features. At the Rover Booth this year, we are displaying the Range Rover Autobiography, a top-of-the-line limited edition model that was introduced in May of this year.

Discovery
Photo:DiscoveryCapitalising on Land Rover's more than 50 years of experience, the Discovery was first introduced to the British market in 1989 as a new 4WD for family use. The original Discovery received its first complete makeover last year, with the allnew model introduced first in Britain. The new Discovery made its debut in Japan in June of this year. Major improvements made to the original model cover all aspects of the car, from the engineering and design phases to the production stage. Thanks to its epochal sophistication and technology, the new Discovery has become the new standard in the 4WD market. The car is fully equipped with a host of features that enable both stable on-road driving and easy, safe all-terrain off-road driving. The new Discovery also achieves the highest level of safety. In the interior, the 7-passenger model now has a third row of front-facing seats, a new, highquality, dual-mode auto air-conditioning system, and an ICE system. At the Rover Booth this year, we are displaying the top-of-the-line ES (7 passengers) and the XS (5 passengers), which has features matching those of the ES.

Defender "Project SVX"
Since the inception of Land Rover in 1948 the company has set the benchmark for off-road technology and innovation. The Land Rover Defender can trace its heritage directly back to those early days and underpins the guts, authenticity and adventure values of the brand. Project SVX takes these values one step further towards the ultimate off-road vehicle.

Profect SVX is based on the Defender 90 but has been heavily modified by Land Rover design and engineering inspired by the concept of the "urban adventure," who wants to break away from the city to enjoy the wild open spaces.

MGF Super Sports: Show model
Photo:MGF Super SportsA high-performance derivative of the MGF, the MGF Super Sports is a "race car for the road." It has been developed by the MG Competitions department using their extensive knowledge gleaned from the MGF Cup race series. The MGF Super Sports is powered by an exclusive supercharged version of the Rover award-winning 1.8 litre K Series engine, specially tuned to produce 200 Ps together with a broad range of torque for optimised acceleration. The specially formed bodywork features wider wheel arches to house the larger 17-inch wheels and wider tracks, while the suspension has been tuned by MG Competitions. The result is an exciting sports car with super styling, tremendous performance, and outstanding handling.

The Mini 40th Anniversary Limited
Photo:The Mini 40th Anniversary LimitedIntroduced in June of this year, this is a limited edition model, with production strictly confined to only 800 cars. As befits a special anniversary model, it features a variety of luxurious extras. In particular, the interior is distinguished by extensive use of machine-turned silver alloy panels on the fascia, which immediately marks out this limited edition from the standard model. In addition, its steering wheel, door pockets, and dashboard are covered with genuine leather. The model is available in a choice of three premium body colours, with three matching trim colours to choose from as well.

The Mini Cooper 40th Anniversary Limited
This car was introduced in September as a second model commemorating the Mini's 40th anniversary. Production has been limited to only 1,000 cars, all destined exclusively for the Japanese market. Based on the Mini Cooper, this 40th anniversary limited edition model is distinguished by a variety of sporty features, including wide wheel spats, ultra-low-profile tyres, dampers tuned for sporty driving, and a large chrome tailpipe finisher, all of which add up to uniquely powerful styling. It is available in a choice of two body colours.
