| Silicon carbide (SiC) is a promising material to constitute power devices for traction inverters etc. for hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles. Compared to current power devices made of silicon (Si), SiC power devices are expected to help inverters exhibit higher power with a smaller size, since SiC withstands higher voltage and higher temperature, and produce smaller power loss than Si. DENSO will exhibit a demonstrator of SiC inverters which drive an in-wheel motor. |
