Active headrest seat with inertia lock mechanism |
TS Tech's original "active headrest with inertia lock mechanism" is applied into the new Civic seat arrived in this fall. Active headrest reduces whiplash injury, but this inertia lock realized to contact the headrest with the head at the optimum timing, which has been a highly difficult problem. The biggest feature is the headrest stays at the position after moving forward. In the whiplash injury protection evaluation test of IIHS (the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) in USA, it obtained "GOOD" rating, which is the highest score. Another feature is a resin plate in the frame, that supports seating posture to reduce fatigue, links with the active headrest mechanism to activate it at the rear end collision. |

TS Tech had an opportunity to make a great advance in car seat business with this seat. We poured as much technique as possible, that was obtained through motorcycle seat production experiences. TS Tech's seat design philosophy comes from this seat. |

Environment-oriented seat |
The conventional material of the current seat pad is urethane because of its performance, quality, and cost. However, to develop a product made of more environment-friendly material is an urgent issue for suppliers. TS Tech developed non urethane seat pad production technique with satisfying the current seat performance. The material is polyester elastomer fiber. It can be molded with seat cover, and has more features: easier to recycle, lighter weight than urethane, better breathability, and soft tactile feeling on the surface. |

The 3rd row power seat is stowed into the floor by pressing the switch on the left side of the luggage space. The seat back is folded down, and the whole seat turns over, then stowed into the floor automatically. To right the seat up is also done by the switch operation. |

The 3rd row seat is stowed into the floor by a single operation. The mechanism of the right and left seat works separately, and it gives more flexibility for users. The biggest feature of this mechanism is that the seat-foot supporting the seat under the cushion is simultaneously stowed into the cushion when the seat is stowed. |

It is TS Tech's early product. The trim cover is welded. Welding is now a standard for motorcycle seats, but at that time, we led in applying the method on motorcycle seats. It successfully reduced water damage to the seat pad by rain, etc., that was a weak point of sewn trim cover. |

An atmosphere providing a sense of luxury and allowing for driving mode-specific levels of comfort was achieved with styling changes.
