Daytona 675 |
The Daytona 675 stands alone in the hotly contested sports bike arena and while others might compare it to a myriad of motorcycles, it's very much a statement of how a pure Triumph sports bike should look and, just as importantly, feel. In one single stroke it has redefined just how a middleweight sports bike should perform, packing as it does a large amount of power and torque into a small, nimble package.
Designed around the engine the spars of the fabricated, open-back, cast frame wrap over the top of the motor, levering further the benefits of the narrow three-cylinder design. Rake is set at 23.5degrees, trail at 86.8mm trail with a wheelbase of 1392mm. The aluminium swingarm itself is a two-piece casting and measures 574mm from rear wheel spindle to pivot point, greatly improving suspension and rear wheel control. Dry weight is 165kg (363lbs). |

Scrambler |
For 2006 the parallel twin-cylinder Scrambler adds a new twist to the Modern Classics range and is a fresh take on some iconic bikes from Triumph's past. It's a redefinition of the bikes made famous by 50's thrill-seekers such as Steve McQueen, into a contemporary urban context. The Scrambler's 865cc, DOHC, eight-valve, air-cooled engine uses a 270degrees crank firing interval for a smooth and torquey power delivery. With a bore and stroke of 90x68mm and compression ratio of 9.2:1 the engine also features twin carburettors with throttle position sensors. Peak power of 55PS arrives at 7,000rpm (with maximum torque of 69Nm available at 5,000rpm).
Using a sturdy tubular steel cradle frame and long-travel suspension front and rear - 41mm telescopic forks and twin chromed spring preload-adjustable rear shocks - the Scrambler is built tough, to iron out the bumps. The Scrambler has a dry weight of 205kg. |

Rocket III |
The Rocket III has carved a unique niche in the clone-like cruiser market and exists in a class all its own with its striking looks, stunning performance and incredible specification. But while it may be the largest capacity production motorcycle in the world it's designed first and foremost to be ridden. Good lock-to-lock movement, seamless fuel-injection and a low centre of gravity combine to make low speed manoeuvring surprisingly easy, while the steering geometry and overall length give a securely planted and confident feel. The Rocket III is not only the world's largest capacity production; it's also a bike without equal. Its unique, fuel-injected, triple cylinder engine has a cubic capacity of 2,294cc uses massive, 101.6mm diameter pistons. It makes 147ft-lbs of torque at 2,750rpm. This incredible output means even two-up the accelerates incredibly hard without obvious effort, and relentless forward motion is just a slight twist of throttle away. |

Speed Triple |
The Speed Triple mixes a monstrously powerful three-cylinder core with a top quality chassis and an aggressive, stripped-down stance. The gnarly character of the inline triple is intrinsic to the Speed Triple's brutish charm. Its primal 1050cc DOHC fuel-injected three-cylinder engine pumps out a great surge of bottom-end torque, followed by a massive mid-range punch and impressive level of overall power. Delivering power to the rear wheel is a slick-shifting gearbox fitted with a remote gear change linkage and clutch fitted with a backlash eliminator gear. Crisp-edged engine cases and covers enhance the engine's look, as does the absence of exterior hoses. Peak power is 130PS @ 9,100rpm while peak torque of 105Nm arrives at 5,100rpm. |
