PLAY BACK 1999 :

Domestic motorcycle manufacturers are trying to capture the imagination of visitors by emphasizing an image of freedom and closeness with nature. There were many female visitors, reflecting the increased ridership by women. Like the 32nd show, the most popular bikes are those over 750 cc.

A group of bikes that generate so much excitement that on weekends you can hardly approach them because of all the people, are the export models that are not available on the Japanese market. Two of these big sports bikes are the Yamaha YZF-R1, and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R. There are always many people snapping pictures of these two-wheeled beauties.

Besides the big bikes, there are many concept mini-bikes sporting environment-friendly technology on exhibit. Honda is introducing an electronic fuel injected 50cc 4-cycle engine, a world first. Yamaha also has a world first, a hybrid motor-assisted bicycle, the Hybrid Commuter, as a reference exhibit.
