Press Briefing Schedule
for the 35th Tokyo Motor Show - Passenger Cars & Motorcycles - (2001)

We would like to update you on information regarding the press briefings for the press days of October 24 (Wed.) and 25 (Thu.).

1. Press Days

Dates: October 24 (Wed.) and 25(Thu.), 2001
Opening hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

2. Press Briefing

Please refer to the outline below. We would like exhibitors who are conducting the press briefing, and those who are not, to cooperate in abiding by noise control so that briefings go smoothly.

  1. Dates for Briefings by Section:
    Day One: October 24 (Wed.) for Passenger Cars and Motorcycles Section
    Day Two: October 25 (Thu.) for Foreign Governments and Parts Makers
    Section (only for Exhibitors with six booths or more)

  2. Time for Briefings
    9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  3. Venue
    Briefings will be conducted at the exhibitors’ own stands or conference rooms.

  4. Time assigned to each exhibitor
    1. At exhibitor stand: Up to 30 minutes (25 minutes for the briefing, and 5 minutes to move to the next stand)
    2. At conference room: Up to 60 minutes

  5. Briefing Schedule
    Briefings are scheduled to be made in the west, center, and east halls, and arranged so that two briefings will never be held simultaneously in the same hall. (For details, please refer to the schedule at the end of this notice.)

3. Noise control
Exhibitors are requested to abide by the following regulations so that journalists can do their jobs in calm condition.

  1. Exhibitors that must remain silent during the briefings will be identified in a later newsletter.
  2. As stipulated in “Restriction of Sound Volume” in the Standfitting and Display Regulations, volume will be limited to 80dB (A) on the stand borderlines facing the common passageways on the press days.

4. Catering services
Exhibitors may provide food and beverages for the press during the two press days. The Secretariat will organize press lunch services from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the two press days in the Convention Hall on the 2nd floor of the International Conference Hall.

5. Distribution of promotional goods and/or handy bags

  1. Distributing promotional goods to the press is prohibited.
  2. Handy bags for carrying distributed materials must be the standard type ordinarily used by the exhibitors.
  3. The Secretariat will prepare handy bags for its own show materials.

6. Pre-show press conferences or parties
Press conferences and/or parties outside of the exhibitor’s stand are strictly prohibited from 9:00 am to 6:00 p.m. on the first press day. For the second press day, exhibitors are free to hold such functions after the final briefing ends.
