(1)Environment
We introduce our efforts for the global environment and global environmental protection, including our technology for cleaner exhaust gases and reducing energy consumption.
1. Cleaner diesel emissions
We exhibit our advanced diesel engine that further reduces fuel consumption for diesel vehicles and contributes to cleaner diesel emissions, and a new hybrid truck.

•The new hybrid diesel truck
Jointly developed by HINO and TMC, this new hybrid commercial vehicle delivers clean diesel emissions and low fuel consumption. It utilizes the latest technology from both companies, including Hino's new low-pollution diesel engine, Toyota's hybrid system, and a catalytic system. Our objective is to produce quite, low-pollution commercial vehicles for city use that eliminate the need for gear changes for ease of driving. This vehicle broadly increases fuel consumption performance when used in urban areas and drastically cuts emissions to protect both the global and the urban environments.

(2)ITS(Intelligent Transport System)
We exhibit our latest efforts for ITS, including our Advanced Safety Vehicles and our logistics system.
1. Advanced Safety Vehicle
We are participating in the Ministry of Transportation's ASV(Advanced Safety Vehicle) research and development program, and exhibit the ASV-2 that we developed.
•Super Dolphin Profia ASV-2(Heavy-duty truck)
This truck has been provided with seven function that enhance vehicle performance and boost safety using new electronic and other technologies.

2. Logistics system
We present a solution system for the transport industry that supports a range of tasks for companies in the commercial transport companies. The system employs the latest intelligent technology for vehicle operation and management, as well as an order and sales system.
•Comprehensive management service system for transport companies
With featuring digital tachograph using an IC card, the Internet and packet communications, information can be exchanged between the vehicle, the APS center, and the transport company. This system provides support for a diversity of functions that range from vehicle operation and management for the transport company, receiving and placing orders, and administrative tasks.

(3)Welfare
We exhibit a large public transit bus that enables more comfortable movement for the aged and disabled while reducing exhausts and improving public transportation.
•A large, non-step route bus(Blue Ribbon City)
•Enables easy boarding and exiting with a non-step feature and a vehicle height adjustment device.
•The vehicle interior has a full-flat floor with no height differences.
•The vehicle has ben certified through the ordinance for designated low-pollution vehicles(seven prefectures, cities in the metropolitan area and cities in the Keihanshin region). We have achieved low pollution levels through advanced diesel technology, including a common-rail fuel injection system and the world's first pulse EGR.

(1)Demonstration vehicle
1. Space Ranger FT
(Planned to be entered in the 2001 Paris-Dakar Rally)
We plan to enter the Space Ranger in the Paris-Dakar Rally, well known as the world's most grueling car rally. The vehicle to be entered in the 2001 rally will be equipped with DPF. We plan to use the rally as a test of its durability.

1. Super Dolphin Profia FW
(Short cab, super-high roof, van body)
This is a heavy-duty truck, low-floor truck with two axles at the front and rear(8x4). this truck has a short cab with a super-high roof. Its 10-meter-long bed has a loading area of 66 cubic meters, the largest single-vehicle loading capacity in Japan. The driver's seat features a sliding door rather than the standard hinged door. The double trailing air suspension ensures soft riding comfort. The super-high roof is molded into an aerodynamic shape that reduces air resistance and is also effective for cutting fuel consumption.
2. Super Dolphin Profia FR
(Full cab, chassis with cab)
This is Hino's mainstay heavy-duty truck. We have incorporated Hino's advanced technology into this truck, including a K13C engine, common-rail fuel injection system, the world's first pulse EGR, and a VG(Variable Geometry) turbo, to achieve low pollution and fuel consumption. The truck also features the "Pro Shift" automatic transmission that makes driving easy and reduces fuel consumption. The double trailing air suspension enables comfortable, high-quality transport. The exhibited vehicle is equipped with Scanning Cruise that ensures the vehicle will maintain a fixed distance from other vehicles, ETC(Electric Toll Collection), and a regenerating cooling system that enables cooling without turning on the engine.
3. Super Dolphin Profia SH
(Semi-tractor)
Hino's mainstay product in its tractor series. The truck features an automatic transmission with 16 speeds(the "Pro Shift" with 16 speeds). The EBS(Electronic Brake System) enables greater braking performance for the tractor and trailer.
4. Space Ranger FJ
(Short cab, gull-wing body)
This is a heavy-duty truck in the Ranger series. The short cab and 8.5 ton loading capacity make this truck ideal for the transport of medium-sized loads. It has been certified as a diesel engine vehicle conforming to the ordinance for designated low-pollution vehicles(seven prefectures, cities in the metropolitan area and cities in the Keihanshin region).

5. Space Ranger FD
(Full cab, van body)
A standard medium-duty truck. This truck has been equipped with enhanced safety features, including discharge headlamps, disc brakes, scanning cruise, magnetic retarder, and ES start.
6. Dutro
(Stylish van body)
This is the smallest vehicle in Hino's truck series. The truck design features the latest in style innovation. We have incorporated medium and heavy-duty truck technology into this light truck. Our objective is a new standard in reliability and durability.
7. S'elega R GJ
(A luxury large touring bus)
This is the ultimate in touring buses. It is beautifully contoured and has the appearance of a double-decker bus. The interior of the top level of this large tour bus is extraordinarily comfortable. The vehicle is fully equipped with a wide array of safety features for the greater safety and enjoyment of the customers it carries. These features include ASR, ES start, EBS(Electronic Brake System), a permanent magnetic retarder, the new safety eye, a vehicle approach sensor, and an ultra-strong body.
8. Melfa 9
(A medium-sized sightseeing bus with interior comfort as a large-sized model)
the design of the Melfa 9 features highly original, smooth curved surfaces. This beautiful salon-type bus provides the same comfort as a large bus.
9. Rainbow Non-step Route Bus
(With largest floor area among 9-meter-long buses in Japan)
Built on the concept of providing comfort to passengers and being an attractive sight in urban environments, this bus with a non-step area is the leader in its class. It conforms to the ordinance for designated low-pollution vehicles(seven prefectures, cities in the metropolitan area and cities in the Keihanshin region) by incorporating such features as the common-rail fuel injection system and the EGR and muffler with oxidation catalyst.
10. Liesse
(Small community bus with step lift)
This is the only bus in Japan with an engine in the rear. It is a boon for the community transportation that is an integral part of our daily lives. Large or small, Hino route buses meet all types of community needs.
