This area allows visitors to experience automobiles in many different scenes and settings.


Safety Experience Test Drive
Experience vehicle safety features such as the ABS (Anti-lock brake system) and ESC (electronic stability control).


4X4 Adventure Test Ride
Ride along with a professional driver on a four-wheel drive vehicle and experience a special outdoor course.

Safety Experience Test Drive

The Safety Experience Test Drive is designed to give members of the general public hands-on experience and education about traffic safety. Among the highlights are the “Seatbelt Convincer” with functional airbags, and an opportunity to experience vehicle behavior on a low-friction surface with and without active safety devices (ABS/ESC/TCS). The course will run from the first Press Day on Wednesday, October 24 through to the end of the General Public Days on Sunday, November 11. Located in G Block in Makuhari Seaside Park adjacent to Makuhari Messe, it will feature 9 vehicles from 6 automakers.
On weekdays during the exhibit (10 days), participating automakers will have the opportunity for exclusive use of the course.

Application for test rides Test ride tickets are distributed at the reception counter on a first-come first-served basis at the top of each hour (10:00-14:00).
* Distribution times subject to change depending on conditions.
Eligibility General public, members of the press, and people affiliated with the show.
Requirements for participation (1) Holder of a driver’s license for a year or longer
(2) Has not had an accident due to gross negligence nor been levied punishment equivalent or heavier than license suspension due to traffic violations within the past year
(3) Has not drunk any alcohol before test riding

Notes:
ABS (Antilock Brake System): A system which prevents the wheels from locking and helps the driver retain steering control when braking hard on low-friction surfaces.
ESC (Electronic Stability Control): A system that works to stabilize the behavior of automobile when it goes through corners.
TCS (Traction Control System): A system which prevents wheel spin when starting or accelerating.

4 × 4 Adventure Test Ride

The Off-Road Course is one of the new attractions at the Tokyo Motor Show, enabling visitors to enjoy something different from ordinary pavement. The purpose of the 4 × 4 Adventure Test Ride is to allow participants to experience for themselves the stability and performance of four-wheel-drive vehicles. The course will run from the first Press Day on Wednesday, October 24 through to the end of the General Public Days on Sunday, November 11. Located in G Block in Makuhari Seaside Park adjacent to Makuhari Messe, it will feature 19 vehicles from 7 automakers.
On weekdays during the exhibit (10 days), participating automakers will have the opportunity for exclusive use of the course.
