The Passat R36 is powered by the 3.6-liter, V6 engine with FSI technologies, yielding 220kW (300ps) which is 36kW(50ps) more than the exisiting 3.2-liter engine versions. This power is tranmitted by VW unique 6-speed DSG and 4Motion drive systems. The Passat R36 sedan propels to 100km/h in just 5.6 seconds (5.8 sec. for the Variant) and its maximum speed tops 250km/h(with limiter.) WP Concept Car The main highlight of the Volkswagen exhibits is a world premier of the second edition of the "New Small Family" concept car, succeeding the debut of the "up!" at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. Volkswagen, the creator of the original Beetle, proposes this innovative concept vehicle which shall satisfy the needs for future "Mobility," whilst considering the growing concerns for the environment.
JP Tiguan The Tiguan, an all-new compact SUV which Volkswagen proudly starts to introduce this November into the European market, makes its Japan debut. All Tiguans will be equipped with direct-injection, charged engines, the first SUV to do so, with their powers coming either from the newly-developed common-rail TDI engines or twin-charged, direct-injection gasoline engines (TSI). Like its elder brother Touareg, the Tiguan embodies the three cars in one, achieving excellent rough road tractability, sporty handling on smooth roads, and supurb ride comfort like a limousine. The sale of the Tiguan will start in November in Europe with the Japanese launch planned in second half of 2008.
