Automotive Guidebook of Japan
Automotive Guidebook of Japan Automotive Guidebook of Japan 2005-2006 vol.52 (¥1,200)

The Guidebook has included information on import cars since Vol. 47, but this year has been reworked into a publication that specializes in domestic vehicles. We have therefore changed the English title from “Automotive Guidebook of Japan” to “Japanese Motor Vehicles Guidebook.” This year’s edition features a shift from AB to the larger A4 format, use of a more functional layout, and all color printing for the catalog pages, which used to be in monochrome. The edition also contains a feature on “the 50 Years of the Tokyo Motor Show” that looks back over the last half-century of the Show’s history. With special archive photographs stretching from the first show through the 38th, the feature provides valuable documentation of the Tokyo Motor Show.
The Guidebook will be available at the Tokyo Motor Show and at major bookstores and book services (mail-order services) throughout Japan.

1) Publication date: October 19, 2005 (Wednesday)
2) Available at: A4, 540 pages
3) Retail price: ¥1,200 (tax included)
4) Available at: The Tokyo Motor Show and at major bookstores and book services (mail-order services) throughout Japan.

"Japanese version only"
The first All Japan Motor Show (renamed "Tokyo Motor Show" later) was held at Hibiya Park in 1954. The "Official Catalog" of the show was first published as an exhibitors' catalog, and has evolved over the years together with the show to the current Automotive Guidebook. The motor vehicles, three-wheelers and motorcycles that were displayed at the first show are introduced not with photographs but with illustrations. The contents of this reprinted version are valuable as historical reference.
