Next
to the Subaru booth in the East Hall is
located Mitsuoka, a newcomer to the Tokyo
Motor Show. The theme for its booth is "Harmony." The
space is by no means large, but as President
Susumu Mitsuoka comments, "Small factories
hold large dreams." The venture spirit
is alive and well.
Mitsuoka limits itself to 3 reference
exhibits. The "Orochi" ("The Serpent")
is an original design with a sharp, "snake
eyes" motif. This concept car has earned
praise from even the most jaded motor fans
as a super car. Mitsuoka has not yet decided
on what engine it will use, when the car
will go on sale or what the price will be.
This is a company that is shaking things
up, and visitors are anxious to see what
its next move will be. |
