At
the Harley-Davidson booth, the
center of attention is the Harley "VRSCA
V-Rod" that
is scheduled for launch next spring.
Though completely different in concept
from the
traditional Harley, the bike is
still
Harley through and through.
One indication of its appeal is the extraordinary
popularity
of the pamphlet request corner set up
in the
booth. In the Buell family, Harley
has the ambitious "Firebolt XB9R" on
display, a further attraction for Harley
fans.
BMW offers motorcycle riders a
wide range
of variations, and one of its most popular
models is the low-seat F series.
The "
C1 200 F-1" comes with a seatbelt, head
rest and roof, creating a completely
new form
of vehicle that can be ridden
safely without a helmet and stands up
to any weather.
Across
the hall is the Ducati booth
with
the beautiful "TESTASTRETTA
998," the
pinnacle of Italian superbikes. Its subtle
balance
awes young people and keeps the bike
in a
storm of camera flashes. The Moto
Guzzi
booth also has solid support.
Piaggio,
which won universal acclaim for
its Vespa
scooter, has the large "Piaggio
X9 200 AMALFI" scooter and the "GILERA
DNA 180" on display. Visitors are impressed
by its competitive prices and quality. |
