Volvo Trucks booth concept at the Tokyo Motor Show is 'Total Environment Care' as the key principle. This fundamental principle refers to every possible from of Environment Care. Not only in regard to environment care bought about by meeting emission control regulations on a world level -1-, but also the excellent fuel economy results made achievable through continuous advances in technology are improving the economic environment -2-. Furthermore, Volvo cabins are ergonomically designed to provide maximum safety and comfort for the driver environment -3-).
In addition to air suspension, another of the advanced technologies that Volvo is proud of is the electronic unit injector which electronically controls the total truck environment while driving and makes automatic adjustments to engine, suspension, and brakes as necessary, providing increased care of the cargo environment during transporation -4-. Lastly the fifith element of our Total Environment Care is that of our service environment. To maintain smooth transportation business Volvo has established a service network consisting of over 100 service points nationwide in Japan and also provides 24-hour service -5-. Volvo parts are also speedily delivered from the 10 supply points throughout the country.
This is how Volvo is focussing on Total Environment Care(1~5) within the transportation industry as a part of the core values which can been seen clearly at the Volvo Booth at this year's Tokyo Motor Show.
Booth Highlights

At the volvo booth, the FH12 Tractor, FM12 Dump Truck and the FM12 Cargo Truck models will be exhibited. The FH12 tractor is equipped with an Euro 3 engine that meets the latest emission regulations in Europe, new suspension system, and EBS brakes.

Further details will be announced at the press conference held on 31st Oct at 11:50am~12:05pm at the Volvo Booth. In addition to this, information regarding a 2001 limited edition model will be released. A walk in cabin display will also be exhibited at the booth.

Highlights of Exhibit Products

FH12 Tractor(Globetrotter)
This model received recognition in Europe through accomplishing the 'Truck of the Year' award, the most reputable one of its kind in Europe twice. The high floor cabin is especially suited to long-distance transport and is a 4 x 2 high-roof cabin with 420 horsepower and new technology. This tractor, is equipped with a Euro 3 engine which meets the latest emission regulations in Europe, a new suspension system, and EBS brakes, all of which detailed information will be released at the Tokyo Motor Show.

FM12 Dump Truck(GVW20t dump truck)
The middle floor cabin of this model has allowed for improved driver visibility. Some of this products main features are its front an rear axle parabolic springs and an advanced ABS full air brake.
FM12 Cargo Truck
The driver eye-point of this cab being one step lower than that of the FH series brings ease of in and out cab access making this model suitable for not only long haul transport but also medium and/or short distance. The 6 x 4 model to be exhibited is equipped with 340 horsepower, full air suspension and short cab, is presently attracting attention for improving transportation efficiency.
