The theme of this year's Motor Show is Logistics for the 21st Century. Toyota Motor Corporation(TMC), Hino Motors, Ltd., and Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. have combined to offer a full lineup of commercial vehicles ranging from light trucks to large trucks and buses that anticipate the demands of the future. We have exhibits in the areas of the environment, ITS(Intelligent Transport System), and transporting the aged and disabled. 22 demonstration vehicles, 29 commercial vehicle production models, and 13 specially-equipped vehicles including vehicles to transport aged and disabled are on display for a total of 64 exhibits. Among these displays, Toyota provides exhibits of its work on commercial vehicles in anticipation of the needs of the 21st century:
•New disel technology for further reductions in CO2 and cleaner emissions
•Hybrid vehicles and alternative-fuel vehicles running on fuels such as CNG and LPG
•High-efficiency next-generation transport management systems for logistics using ITS(Intelligent Transport System)technology
•Nursing care vehicles enabling easy wheelchair access and movement
GUIDE TO EXHIBITS

JOINT EXHIBITS(TMC DISPLAYS)
1. Environment

Presentation of work on the global environment and global environmental preservation, including work on cleaner emissions, alternative energy sources, and energy conservation.
A. Cleaner diesel emissions
Exhibits of advanced diesel engines and groundbreaking catalyst system that contribute to cleaner emissions while retaining fhe low fuel consumption of diesel engines.

DPNR(Diesel Particulate NOx-Reduction System)
Exhibits of diesel engine with common rail; DPNR(switching type)system
DPNR lineup[for passenger cars, for RVs/small trucks(switching type), for small buses/trucks(switching type), for large buses/trucks(switching type)]

B. Energy conservation
Exhibits of various hybrid vehicles and gasoline engines designed for cleaner emissions and reductions of CO2 through better fuel efficiency.

Coster hybrid EV sightseeing bus
Comes with wheelchair lifter for the aged and disabled. Designed for transportation and sightseeing in areas such as theme parks and resort facilities. Combines motor and 1.5-liter gasoline engine, has far cleaner emissions, and especailly reduces acceleration noise.

C. Alternative energy sources
Exhibits center on engines for CNG/LPG vehicles. Advantages: clean emissions, low noise/vibrations.
Dyna CNG Cutaway Body
Cutaway body shows placement of parts such as fuel tank.
CNG engine(4.1L)
New 4.1L Dyna engine(with larger displacement for improved performance).
LPG engines
2L, 2.7L and 4.1L

2. ITS(Intelligent Transport System)
Presentation of advanced work on ITS, including logistics systems and public transit systems.
A. Logistics systems
Presentation of systems that aid in transportation management/operations support activities. Systems comprehensively improve the efficiency of the flow of people or commodities. Can be used either between cities or within a region.

TIME-(comprehensive transport management system)
TIME-t(taxi transportation management system)
TIME-w(transportation management system for welfare vehicles)
TIME-b(bus location information system)
TIME-d(vending machine product delivery system)
(TIME=Toyota Intelligent Mobility Enhancement)

B. Public transit system
Presentation of next-generation medium-range/medium-capacity transit system that combines the benefits of rail and road transit systems.

IMTS Intelligent Multimode Transit System
-A new-concept bus system in which buses automatically run on dedicated inter-city roads in single file. On normal roads, the buses are operated manually.
-Large step-free bus with CNG engine

3. Welfare
Presentation of vehicles designed to help make travel more pleasant for the aged or disabled.

Estima [Friendmatic model(completely automatic attachable/detachable lift-up driver's seat/self-advancing) + wheelchair model(slope type)]
-Side lift-up seat slides to the driver's seat, and can be used as a motorized wheelchair.
-Rear seats enable easy access and nursing care for wheelchair users.
-Comes with slope-type access mechanism.

HV-M4(model with power attachable/detachable side lift-up seat/self-advancing)
-Second-row seat can be detached and used as electric(motorized)wheelchair.
