Overview of the Nissan Diesel Booth
At the 34th Tokyo Motor Show 2000 -Commercial Vehicles- at the end of the 20th century, the themes presented by Nissan Diesel are "Evidence of Performance, Comfort, and the Environment." Nissan Diesel's aim is to provide the best product for the business and environment of our customers.
In order to be No.1 to the customer.
•Performance: Contribute to company management through fuel efficiency, transportation efficiency, and freight quality.
•Comfort: Increase safety with easy and stress-free design.
•Environment: Achieve a cleaner environment.
We will reveal the technology of Nissan Diesel that has continually pursued these three ideals.

-Fuel efficiency that's No.1 in the class and unsurpassable freight quality-
•Big Thumb: CD25-ton Super Float universal axle air suspension LD(Long Distance) Cargo
The combination of the new-generation GE13 engine and computer-controlled 12-stage automatic transmission ESCOT-áV provides fuel efficiency that's No.1 in its class, along with easier driving. In addition to the Super Float, universal axle air suspension and electronic brake system(EBS), this model offers features such as an Easy Hill Start system(EHS) and an electric mirror with a heated mirror surface. The Big Thumb represents an evolutionary advancement in economy, safety, and comfort, factors necessary for long-distance and high-speed driving.

-10-meter bed for improved transportation efficiency-
•Big Thumb: CG25-ton full float, rear axle air suspension Short Cab model
The Short Cab specification was born to meet heavy-load needs. With a wing body and a 10-meter bed, the longest in Japan, it has capacity for 9 columns of 1.1 pallets on one side(18 pallets). Despite the short cabin, the Big Thumb provides a roomy interior, a simple bed for napping, and plenty of space for reclining. And to improve transportation quality and comfort, a full float, rear axle suspension system is employed to support the load and reduce the fatigue of the driver.

-The tractor of the near future arrives-
• Big Thumb: CK-T Super Float universal axle air suspension (Reference exhibit)
This is the first Japanese tractor with universal-axle air suspension, putting it at the top in terms of comfort, load vibration, and body height adjustment function. With the electronic cabin suspension system(E-SUS CABIN), riding comfort is improved significantly. The power train, with a GE13 engine and electronically controlled ESCOT-áV transmission, provides for high fuel efficiency and output, resulting in powerful running performance. The ESCOT-áV automatic transmission function makes shifting unnecessary and reduces stress on the driver; and with the electronic brake system(EBS), a high level of safety is assured.

-A clean and quiet truck for our cities-
• CNG Condor
The CNG Condor uses clean and safe compressed natural gas(CNG). This new CNG Condor achieves a sharp reduction in Nox without generating any black smoke or particle material(PM). With power unsurpassed in its class, the CNG Conder has output of 154 kW(210 PS) and 667N•m(68kg•m) torque for powerful running performance. The fuel tank, manufactured using ultra-light materials, is designed to be the maximum size possible with a sharp increase in load capacity and non-stop traveling distance.

-Providing comfortable mobility and user-friendliness in our cities-
•AT Condor freezer truck
The AT Condor uses a new automatic transmission that provides the same cost efficiency of manual transmission, making for easier city driving despite all the starts and stops. With improved Van temperature control and an inverter-controlled generator coolant device, this is the ideal next-generation mid-sized freezer truck for urban cold-chain transportation. The AT Condor promises low-fatigue operation along with economic and high-quality transportation.

-Leading the way in the age of new energy-
•Capacitor Hybrid Truck(Reference exhibit)
This model consists of the Parallel Hybrid System on a CNG(compressed natural gas) truck. With a clean and quiet CNG engine and an efficient motor operated by a capacitor-type condenser that recovers the maximum brake energy for operation power, superior fuel efficiency and environment friendliness is achieved.
Another advantage is the electronic transmission that makes driving all the easier.

-Nissan Diesel provides a new means of transportation in our cities-
•Capacitor Hybrid Non-Step Bus(Reference exhibit)
Nissan Diesel is conducting research to make city route busses in the 21st century ever more efficient, environmentally friendly, and barrier free. Using clean and efficient CNG(compressed natural gas) engine power generation, a series hybrid system accumulates energy in the capacitor to provide power to the motor. The brake energy is also collected efficiently to enhance fuel efficiency and environment friendliness. Research and development continues to improve efficiency and reduce pollution as a result of being entrusted to develop new energies and industries.

-The cutting edge of comfort: The flagship of large tourist busses-
•The Spacewing Super High Decker Bus
The Nissan Diesel Spacewing, a super high decker bus, has undergone a full model change. With a new exterior and interior design, this serves as the flagship of large tourist busses.
The newly designed body provides improved safety during collisions while achieving a significant reduction in weight. Using the clean and powerful RH8F(316kW)/RH8E(265kW) engine, the Spacewing provides an incredible increase in fuel efficiency. It also provides a comfortable mobile space with such features as round cockpit-type driver seat with independent heating and cooling and a 600mm wide roof light.

-A city barrier-free bus from a country with an advanced social welfare system-
•Compact Non-step Bus
City busses need to have the footwork that provides superior maneuverability on narrow streets. While designed to have a unique look, the design allows this bus to blond in easily with any city backdrop. This compact non-step bus is based on the advanced social welfare concepts of Sweden. With a full-flat floor and wide doors, it provides a barrier-free and comfortable environment for easy boarding and on-board movement for people using wheelchairs. It also achieves fuel efficiency, economy and environmental friendliness. This is the ideal community bus for 21st century specifications.

•The capacitor changes hybrid vehicles. Hybrid Technology
Concerning for the environment and fuel efficiency that sharply reduces CO2 emissions are becoming more important than ever. The key to finding solutions is highly efficient hybrid technology. To make hybrid systems more efficient, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of each element such as the engine. One of the more important key element is the performance of the condenser that has a multiplier effect on the entire system. Based on the development of a capacitor condenser, ideal for commercial vehicles, Nissan Diesel is moving ahead with the development of advanced hybrid technology.

•The combination of clean technology. Diesel emissions-reduction technology
Diesel engines have a high heat efficiency that make them fuel efficient, helping to prevent global warming and contributing to energy conservation efforts. In order to make further reductions in NOx emissions in emission gas and the particle matter in black smoke, Nissan Diesel is actively incorporating new technologies that further reduce emission gases. Results of the efforts include Japan's only unit injector, and also cooled ENG, and a diesel particulate filter(DPF). Nissan Diesel is in pursuit of cleanliness; from the time fuel enters the vehicle until when it leaves.

•There is correlation between the degree of safety and comfort. ASV technology
Nissan Diesel got an early start in research and development into advances safety vehicles(ASV). This effort has brought us to one conclusion: Impact safety technology is important, but we must also remember the potential of preventative safety that includes fatigue reduction on the driver. Reducing the fatigue to drivers over long distances and during long drivers is closely related to driving safety. Nissan Diesel uses a wide range of ASV technology to establish a safer distribution system for the 21st century.
